I have another question: we receive a fuel compensation, but the client has raised the base price so much that we don't receive anything; rather, they are deducting from it. Is this fair? After all, we are paying for the fuel, and this results in a loss for us. I believe they shouldn't be allowed to do this since they are not contributing. And as far as I know, compensation is not mandatory, but I think they shouldn't be allowed to lower it if our expense is for fuel. Are they deceiving us? Can the client set any base price they want?
The client has the right to determine the base price and the compensation as well. If the base price is so high that the compensation does not cover the fuel costs, the carrier will incur losses. In this case, the carrier must consider whether to accept the order or seek another client.
